Overview
Tomago Aluminium is one of the largest aluminium smelters in Australasia employing over 1,000 people and generating revenues in excess of 1.1bn annually. Tomago is a joint venture company comprising Alcan, Gove Aluminium Finance and Hydro Aluminium.
Enviropacific Services has been working for Tomago Aluminium as a specialized waste management contractor since 2004. Enviropacific is conversant with Tomago contractor requirements such as permit to work systems, JSAs, tiered inductions for specific work areas, permit receival training, pitch/SPL/bath training and has delivered a diverse range of environmental and waste related services in most areas of the smelter including:
(1) The cast-house, (2) The rod shop (3) Spent Pot Lining (SPL) storage sheds (4) Buffer zone (asbestos remediation and general rubbish removal) (5) Baked anode areas

- Recycling of Green Paste (pitch and coke) - Value ~$900K Ongoing
- De-scaling Redundant Steel Pipe work for Recycling Value ~$80K
- Containment and Management of Spent Pot Lining (SPL) Storage area Value ~$35K
- Treatment of Fluoride Waste in Accordance with DECC Immobilisation Approval Value ~$50K Ongoing
- Clearance of Sediment Structures - Value ~$8K In addition to the above projects, a number of sundry works have been undertaken
